It's an approach that has the potential to sway people from choosing high-calorie drinks or foods.
I must admit, reading that I would have to run four miles to burn off calories for one soda would make me pass on drinking that soda. No way am I running four miles for one Coca-Cola. Give me a glass of water instead!
The research showed that the exercise information worked for younger people. It wasn't just for soda either. It also worked in fast food restaurants.
It's really a genius idea... if you knew that you had to run several miles just to eat that burger or fries, you may reconsider.
Why not post the calories AND the exercise data required to burn off the calories of each item? Give consumers ALL of the information they need to make a smart decision and ultimately, decrease obesity.
