Ebola: Blood Transfusions Save Lives

When all else fails with Ebola, use a blood transfusion from a survivor of the deadly virus.

Writebol is the missionary who contracted Ebola in West Africa and was flown back to Atlanta for treatment.  As a survivor and a blood match with this latest patient, her blood becomes a life saving tool.

I wonder if they're able to use blood transfusions from survivors in West Africa.  If not, they should make that capability a reality.

Meanwhile, the NBC cameraman who contracted Ebola is now doing well after a blood transfusion saved his life, too.

Immunity is found in blood plasma.

As long as Ebola is spreading, the only way to stop the spread is to tap into that immunity that already exists in its survivors.
