Love, love, love the gym!

I was all alone while doing most of my exercises at the gym today.  I used some machines, the exercise ball, light dumbbell weights, the foam roller, and medicine ball.  I try to work in a little bit of everything to avoid boredom.  As I was heading toward the stairs, I talked to some of my friends at the gym.  They inspire me.  But I like to keep my conversations friendly, short, and sweet, so I get in as much as exercise as possible.

I went to the swimming pool to finish my exercise routine and   there was limited space at the pool. When one person rejected me from working into swimming laps in a double lane, I moved over to the other lane that was being shared by two young men who welcomed me with open arms.  We chatted, laughed, and had a good time sharing the swim lanes.  They were kind and generous.  So, while one person wasn't nice to me, I made two new friends who gave me some workout tips.

There's so much good and kindness in the world which outweighs an unfriendly spirit.

Never give up.

Never take no for an answer when there's another option.

When one door closes, another opens.

After my round at the gym and the swimming pool, the boys and I went to the Malibu Farmer's Market.  We got some delicious white peaches, blackberries, strawberries, and yellow tomatoes.

My son has finally agreed to start exercising with me and I am overjoyed by the prospect of having a part-time exercise buddy.  He's going to start slow by running with me this evening when the temperatures are cooler.

It is definitely a beautiful, uplifting day in Southern California!  Hope you're having a great day wherever you are today!
