Fat and Need a Job? You Must Lose Weight STAT

If you're overweight or obese, you're SOL on the job front.  Maybe that's abrupt, but it's true.

No one wants to hire someone who is fat because it represents a laziness for the office and may cause negative attitudes toward the brand of the company.  Or that's what some people think.

In the latest British study, there are prejudices in hiring overweight workers.  Weight discrimination is real, but it's also really hard to prove.

Does this prejudice against people who are obese shock you?  It shouldn't.

I know people of every size who are unemployed.

I know people who are morbidly obese who are looking for work.

I know people who are obese and looking for work.

I also know thin people who were looking for work.  All of the thin people were hired first.

It doesn't show up on a resume, but once you walk through the door for an in-person interview and they see you're obese you'll hear those four special words, "We'll be in touch."  That means you didn't get the job because you're fat.

If you really need a job badly enough, you will find the time to make changes in your habits to lose the weight.

Suck it up, get on My Fitness Pal and start losing weight.  It's free!  Good luck!
