Great News About Wild Blueberries

Wild blueberries can lower blood pressure and lower the risks caused by a diet that is high fat.

This is great news because Trader Joe's sells organic wild blueberries in the frozen section.

Trader Joe's also sells dried wild blueberries.

The only question I have:  am I buying the RIGHT wild blueberries that are healthy.  The article mentions that the wild blueberries used in the study are grown in the wild in England and they're grown in Finland.  Wild blueberries are apparently a staple of the Nordic Diet.

Frozen Organic Wild Blueberries are 80 calories for a cup, plus they have 13 grams of sugar.

Dried Wild Blueberries are 140 calories for 1/4 cup, plus they have 26 grams of sugar.

Another interesting thing in this article is the boxed information on potatoes preventing weight gain.

As it turns out, eating potatoes or using a potato extract may help in dieting but clinical trials are the next hoop to jump in the study.

Whether you're eating wild blueberries or potatoes, I still believe in the value of counting calories on My Fitness Pal for free.  Bottom line:  counting calories works for weight loss.
