Refusing Weight Loss Surgery... When You're Too Fat to Work?

Does this story make any sense at all?

So, apparently this woman who receives 75,000 British Pounds (or $114,708 U.S. dollars) in disability benefits annually because she's too fat to work has refused free weight loss surgery. Why? So, she doesn't lose the disability money.

Let's see... here's the alternative.  Develop health problems?  Diabetes?  Die sooner than later?

This makes no sense.  If someone is bed bound, they'd rather stay in bed with morbid obesity than diet or accept free weight loss surgery as a last resort?

She weighs 392 pounds.  That is morbid obesity.

Go to Reddit and read through the comments.

She probably will lose not only the money but also discounted disability housing.  Then, she would have to find a job.  Finding a job when you've been out of the workforce is challenging.

Does your health come first?

If you were receiving $114K a year, would you lose weight and give up that income?
