Christina Topacio. Love her. She's a marketing director, blogger... and she's on a dating app.
Some guy texted her that she needs to lose weight. She had never even met him in person.
So, she responded with a picture of herself wearing only an unbuttoned white blouse while eating a burrito bowl.
I think this story is brilliant. You can follow Christina Topacio on Twitter, where she recently posted pictures of her burger, fries and ice cream float from Burger Lounge.
Here's the thing: She's not obese. So, why the judgement?
In fact, he seemed like he was stalking her blog, looking at her pictures and judging her.
Men judge women's weight harshly. Age and weight...yep, those are the two issues that attract attention.
So, I went cruisin' over to Craigslist personal ads to see what guys are looking for these days.
Haha... want to have a laugh? Go to Craigslist personal ads. Yikes! It's frightening out there.
"I'm like a 65 Mustang..."
"Looking for sexy, slim, easy going..."
"Be ready to give yourself to your new true master..."
"My wife isn't interested anymore, are you in the same boat?"
"Let Daddy tuck you in..."
"Curvy girls = fat, no thanks."
"Must be able to wear a bikini on my boat." And he was 50!
One guy goes so far to say he dated 5 girls from Craigslist and "three of them looked like they fell off the ugly tree and got hit with every branch on the way down."
"Looking for... a girl with all her front teeth, not 500lbs?"
You don't see messages such as "looking for real woman" or "I love stretch marks..."
If someone is looking for the perfect mate, no one is perfect. We just are who we are - accept it or move on. To all of these people on Craigslist... do you think you're 100% perfect? C'mon. Get real. There's a reason you're single. Start being a little kinder and leave the judgments for the courtroom.
