My Butt Has Been On Display?

I love swimming for exercise.

I love wearing bathing suits.  I have since I was a child.

But not all bathing suits are created equal.

Case in point.  So, I'm at the gym this week swimming while wearing a bathing suit I love.  I've gotten compliments on this bathing suit from men and women.  I catch a glimpse of my backside in the gym mirror and what do I see?  There is no lining in the back of the bathing suit.  No kidding.  I had no idea up until this moment that my butt has been on display because there's no lining.  None of the guys at the gym mentioned it to me, but they sure do talk to me a lot.

I started to do some research.  As it turns out, you have to read the small print about a bathing suit if you're going to buy it online.  Read the small print.  If it says "Unlined" that means it's only one stretched thin layer of material and it will wear faster.  Lighter colors that are unlined may show all of the details of your butt in a see-through fashion.  Be prepared. If it says "Fully Lined" that means there's an extra piece of material on the inside of the bathing suit to protect your privates from being exposed.  Who wants their butt on full display?

I have no idea when they stopped fully lining bathing suits.  I looked at my older bathing suits from years ago and they're all fully lined.  However, my more recent purchases in the last three to five years are only lined in the front of the bathing suit and not the back.

My advice: Try on a bathing suit in the store and look at your butt.  Check the lining before you purchase.  If you're buying online, look for the words "Fully Lined."  If I were a super model, I wouldn't worry about this.  But not everyone can be a super model.

It's bathing suit buying season.  Don't keep yourself out of the swimming pool or the ocean just because you made a bad investment in swimwear.  Do yourself a favor and buy a full lined suit. Trust me, you won't be sorry.
