This is the photo Melissa Joan Hart posted on her Instagram with a thank you message to Nutrisystem for her weight loss.
She looks FABULOUS in this photograph. But is this a real life photo or is it photoshopped? Dear Melissa, tell the public the truth. Is it photoshopped or not?
I have no beef with Melissa Joan Hart. I actually like her. But this photo is extremely discouraging especially when I see another photo of her in the exact same bathing suit taken the same day by the Daily Mail (scroll down through the Daily Mail article of photos).
What is the truth?
Aren't we entitled to the truth?
Her legs look thinner and longer in this photograph she posted than the photos posted on the Daily Mail. Her arms also look thinner and longer. And she seems tanner. She's beautiful, right? She seems perfect.
Either I need Nutrisystem or I need Photoshop!
If Photoshop will make me taller and leaner, I'm signing up! I don't think Nutrisystem can make me instantly taller or leaner. That would take time.
Here's the thing... I don't want anyone to be misled. But certain celebrities are under endorsement agreements with companies to promote their products. They want to make the company look good because they garner money from hawking their product. I totally understand that. And most of the media plays along.
Look at this photo of Kylie Jenner from her Instagram. She's a beautiful girl and she's promoting Teatox. She's not photoshopped in this photo, but she is clearly promoting a product... the same way Melissa Joan Hart is promoting Nutrisystem for her supposed weight loss.
I met with a very successful entrepreneur recently who said these photos that mention products are worth a fortune. Some companies will pay up to $30,000 per picture. This is big business and pure promotion. Find the right celebrity or model pictured with a product or mentioning a product and the sky is the limit!
So, while photoshopping has not been banned in ads or personal photographs posted by celebrities for the purpose of promoting and selling products, you have to be a smart consumer.
Before you buy a product, decide whether the photo influencing your purchasing habits has been photoshopped. Figure out what reality is and then base your purchasing power on reality, not perceived reality. It's all really one big elaborate game. Be smart...either buy into the ad or outsmart the advertisement. The choice is yours.
Either way, Melissa Joan Hart and Kylie Jenner are beautiful ladies with or without the power of photoshop and endorsements. And if publications are talking about these ladies, they're big business and worth every penny of advertising products.
