There are SO many studies from universities about diet and weight loss these days. It's overwhelming at times.
That said - there's another study. But this one uses a bigger group of people who were studied over a longer period of time. So, it's better than other studies that only research a dozen people over two weeks.
Here's the gist of this latest study and I AGREE with it!
'Fat Shaming' does not help people lose weight, study finds
That is absolutely true!
My husband called me "fat" and guess what it made me do? It made me eat more. Ironically, he had a big belly when he called me "fat," so it even made less sense. He wasn't trying to help me. He was "fat shaming" me.
Instead of fat shaming anyone or making them feel poorly about their obesity, try working with them. Go for a walk and invite them along on that walk. Make them a healthy dinner. Do something nice instead of only focusing on the negatives.
Fat shaming is wrong. Weight discrimination is wrong. Disrespect and weight bias are wrong.
Do the healthy thing - lend a helping hand instead!
