The notice sent out on Facebook was genius because its sole purpose was to expand business and reach new clients.
For one day only, Cavaretta's Deli in Los Angeles County, CA was discounting their $8.45 large 12" sandwiches for $5.00.
It was a great discount today!
Cavaretta's is a step above Subway. It's all fresh ingredients at an Italian deli.
Cavarett'as lasagna is also amazing...saving that for another day.
Here's the challenge.
How many calories are in the sandwich?
Discount sandwich - discount calories? Not exactly.
In California, Subway is required by law to provide the calorie count because Subway is a chain restaurant. A 12" turkey sandwich at Subway ranges from 560 calories to 720 calories depending on the type of bread, amount and type of mayonaise, extras, etc.
But this sandwich at a deli outside of a chain ... calorie count unknown.
So, I split the difference and counted this sandwich at 650 calories. I think that's fair. And it's also a a reminder that this will be more than half of my calories for the entire day.
Time to slice the calories for each meal.
Cut it in half and eat half for lunch and half for dinner. Problem solved.
Yum...
