Ear Gauge Fad Ending - Think Twice Before Stretching Earlobes

We all see people with ear gauges.  I see people working at Starbucks with ear gauges of all sizes and most of them look fine if the ear gauges are being worn in the earlobes.

But I've also seen the other extreme.  One person whom I personally know was not allowed to wear the ear gauges to work.  The problem was that his ear gauges had stretched his earlobes so wide, he was told to wear Band-Aids over the gaping holes.  A few hours into his day, the Band-Aids were slipping or hanging off of his earlobes and it just looked bad.  Eventually, he disappeared from his job with the public.  I heard it had something to do with the gaping holes in his earlobes. The size of those holes seemed to increase as his earlobes sagged lower and lower. They actually seemed to need the support of the ear gauges.

Now, people are looking into cosmetic surgery to repair the gaping holes.  If you want to work with the public or in business, those gaping holes will hold you back.

Cosmetic surgery to fix ear "tribal piercings" on the rise - CBS

When I went to college, people used to tell the guys who had pierced ears they'd have to grow the holes shut to get a job.  And that was true.

Now, the same is true with ear gauges, except that the holes caused by a variety of sizes of ear gauges do not grow shut on their own and will require surgery to correct.
