This is the stupidest thing I've heard today and it's been a long day.
Watch this video.
Fort Lauderdale passes law outlawing many from feeding homeless
Beyond food, look at the Peanut Butter & Jelly Project Facebook page and you can see videos of these generous people donating their time to give haircuts and toiletries to the homeless. Even better, they've gotten 40 people off the streets.
Doing good work is not criminal.
I commend these folks who feed the homeless for $1.00 a day.
This looks better than public school lunches these days! A peanut butter and jelly sandwich, bag of pretzels, a banana, and a water...all for one dollar. Impressive!
Twenty-three years ago when I arrived in Los Angeles, I went out of my way to feed the homeless. I got into trouble for it, too. Feeding the homeless can be dangerous volunteer work. And I found myself in sticky situations sometimes. But I did it because I felt it was right to help other people. I eventually was ordered to stop.
I hope they vote that mayor out of office soon!
