No "Boys and Girls" in the Classroom? Call them "Purple Penguins" Instead!

This is a new one.

'Gender inclusive' school district says drop 'boys and girls,' call kids 'purple penguins'

Well, that had never occurred to me that my sons would be called "purple penguins" in the classroom rather than being called what they are:  boys.

This "Gender Inclusive" approach is happening in the public school district in Lincoln, Nebraska.

This is middle America.  This is the midwest.  It's surprising.  I came from an entire family of educators in Pennsylvania and never once did I hear the teachers refer to their students as "purple penguins."

In my opinion, someone found a way to make a dollar (or two) by creating these new training materials for teachers.

Reading through the entire article, you must read the very last line.

By creating this type of training material, it opens school districts to lawsuits if they don't call the kids "purple penguins" or if they call them "boys or girls."  Kids tell their parents everything.  Even by the age of two, a child can detail what goes on in the classroom and at home.

I can hear it now.  A son goes home to his parents and says, "The teacher called me a boy!"

Outraged parents file a lawsuit.

It's only a matter of time until we hear about the Purple Penguin Lawsuit.
