Lose Weight: Eat With Thin Friends

I love this study, but I also love my fat friends.  Sorry!

Want to eat less? Only go for dinner with your slim friends, and choose what you want before you even arrive, say scientists

Researchers only studied 82 people, inviting them to eat lunch with a fat person or a thin person who ate different amounts of food.  When they ate with the fat person, they ate more food, more calories.

Okay, I get it.  And I agree with the study.  I do eat more calorie-laden food when I'm with my fat friends rather than my thin friends.

My fat friends eat whatever they want, they laugh and have fun.  So, I eat whatever I want, laugh and have fun.

My thin friends dissect what they're eating, sometimes only eat a few bites and take the rest of the meal to go.  I feel as though I should only eat a few bites and take the rest of my meal to go, too. Then, I go home and eat the rest of my meal!

Peer pressure...do you give into it or not?

It depends on how strong you are to change your habits or just want to enjoy a night and give yourself a night off once in a while.

How have I solved this problem?

I rarely eat out anymore and choose to eat at home.  It's easier for me to stay on track.  And it's healthier.

I talk to my friends, meet some for coffee, but not for full on restaurant meals on a regular basis.

I suppose you should marry someone thin to have an effect on your eating habits, too...
Interesting study.
