Ebola: Reckless! NBC's Dr. Nancy Snyderman Violates Self-Quarantine

It's Ebola.  It's contagious.  And it's deadly.

UPDATE:  Read public responses on Dr. Nancy Snyderman's Facebook Page.

This is very reckless, unethical behavior by a doctor, I can't even believe it.

Shocking...  The NBC News President said that the crew would stay at home for 21 days.  So, this wasn't the truth?  This didn't apply to the celebrity of the group?  NBC News should offer an explanation to the public.

Amongst the comments on the Planet Princeton article are people from the restaurant who witnessed this scene.  Some of those customers are demanding an apology from NBC and Snyderman for jeopardizing their health in a crowded, public restaurant.  So, the restaurant was crowded?

NBC News was happy to report when Snyderman's cameraman was part of the story by contracting Ebola.  Now, it's radio silence from NBC News.

This is exactly how Community Associated MRSA has spread in the community - by no one honoring self-quarantines.  MRSA is spread from person-to-person and through contaminated surfaces and objects.  The same is true of Ebola as it is spread person-to-person and through contaminated surfaces and objects.

Case in point:  In Dallas, there is a second case of Ebola.

If there was a 'breach of protocol' in Texas, there was a 'breach of judgement' in New Jersey by Dr. Nancy Snyderman and the two other people in her car.

I've spent time with Dr. Nancy Snyderman and she is the last person I thought would ever violate a self-quarantine.  If the crew can do it, she can do it.  Now, they're all under a mandatory quarantine, but who did they come into contact with and then those people went out into the public setting?  Six degrees of separation... every six steps from person-to-person count.

People may break rules to become a national celebrity on a national news program, but you don't break rules when it jeopardizes other people's health.  Self-quarantines count for the wealthy and celebrities, too.

Very disappointing...
