So, if you know my favorites, you know I love the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. But at $4.15 for a tall, it's a once a month treat.
My search has continued for the perfect Pumpkin Spice Latte... and I think I've found it.
McDonald's is giving away free small coffees during breakfast time through September 29th.
Have you tasted McDonald's coffee?
My brother loves their coffee and he's right. It's smooth, there's high-turnover so it's always a fresh cup, and it's delicious. McDonald's uses Don Francisco GaviƱa Gourmet coffee. Here's their website http://www.gavina.com... but as I've been researching it online, it's hard to find the exact blend that is available at McDonald's. Interesting.
Here is my recipe. It doesn't have the syrup that the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte has, but it's far fewer calories, too.
Pumpkin Spice Latte:
Small McDonald's Coffee - 0 Calories
1/4 Cup Whole Milk - 38 Calories
2 Tbsp Rock View Whipped Light Cream - 20 Calories
1/4 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice Trader Joe's - 1 Calorie
That's a total of 59 Calories for my homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte. I heat the whole thing in the microwave for 30 seconds just before I drink it. That way the milk is warm, too.
Once McDonald's stops the free coffee, I'm going to switch back to making a batch of drip coffee at home. It's less expensive.
Here's an alternative recipe that is higher in calories but probably yummy!

Enjoy!
