However, this latest study was long-term and involved thousands of people.

There were about 27,000 people studied and tracked for 14 years. That's a lengthy, full study of folks.
High-fat dairy actually paid off in the risk of Type 2 Diabetes vs. eating low-fat dairy products.
If you're concerned about Type 2 Diabetes you have to read the small print in the link in this article. It's really not that much whole milk or whole cream you need every day to lower your risk.
Interesting study... I've always thought low-fat diets are not necessarily good for you. My sister and my father both ate a lot of low-fat products. They're both dead. While I don't think the low-fat products caused their death, I do believe their constant intake of low-fat food products changed the metabolic makeup of their bodies. I believe all of the low-fat products they consumed daily caused weight gain, obesity, and were contributory factors in their premature deaths.

I rarely buy low-fat products anymore, because I find more extra ingredients I don't recognize. The fewer ingredients I can pronounce, the smaller chance of me eating that product. That's just the way I roll...
